Ashford House offers two garden suites, privately located at the rear of the house. They have their own access and a large, private parking area at the front of the house. All accommodation is en-suite and has access to free Wi-Fi. We offer excellent facilities and there are a feature of delights in and around the Wells Area.
The Rose Suite: The rose suite is our large double bedded room. It boasts a spacious environment and neutral colour scheme for a relaxing stay. French oak floors and high ceilings add a touch of luxury to make your stay with us memorable. The brand new en-suite is built to a high standard and offers a large, powerful shower.
The Poppy Suite: The poppy suite offers a choice of either twin beds or a spacious super king size bed for that extra touch of luxury. Wells City, Cathedral and Bishops Palace are just a 10 minute walk away and the delights of Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves and the Pier at Weston Super Mare are easily accessible from the bus stop, conveniently located outside our house or a short drive. For shopping and even more culture, Bristol and Bath are just 20 miles away. And for those in search of a bargain Clarks Village Outlet is only 8 miles away.

Sleep in a King Size Bed, watch T.V. in your own private lounge and shower in the en-suite wet room or soak in a warm bath, depending which room you choose. In your accommodation you will find quality complementary toiletries, chilled natural spring water from Cheddar, facilities for making hot drinks along with a range of complimentary teas, coffee, drinking chocolate and biscuits. There is also a fridge with a non-alcoholic mini bar which is large enough to chill your own drinks if you bring them.
Start your day with a freshly cooked English Breakfast at a time to suit your schedule. Breakfast is made from locally sourced ingredients wherever possible including eggs which are laid by our own free range hens. Alternatively you can choose a Continental Breakfast. We will also do our best to cater for special dietary needs or preferences.

The building of the house was started in 1838 and completed in 1842 built for a local lawyer Edmund Davis. Earl Mount Cashell subsequently used it as a Hunting Lodge. In 1916 the Jenkins made Beryl their family home until we were so fortunate to purchase it in 1979. Since then we have lovingly restored the house and gardens and are delighted to be able to share it. br / br / br / br / Nestling in the Mendip hills one mile from the centre of the cathedral city of Wells Beryl is set in 13 acres of parkland. Within the grounds are finely manicured lawns carefully tended borders and a restored Victorian walled garden. Your arrival will be greeted with warmth and courtesy the epitome of country house hospitality and a welcomed afternoon tea/coffee and cake awaits you. br / br / br / br / Elegant reception rooms are comfortably furnished with antiques offering you the chance to relax by warm fires on a cold day play board games or watch television - find a quiet corner to sit and read a favourite book and maybe take a drink from the honesty bar. br / br / br / br / The garden is an interesting walk it contains a Victorian walled garden. A gully with an old stone bridge and the most beautiful English Bluebells (when in season) an ornamental pond and various avenues of maturing trees on the lower lawns. A children s play area can be found on the main lawn and our outdoor pool is open May to September (weather permitting). br / br / br / br / Each of the uniquely decorated bedrooms come equipped with everything a guest needs to enjoy their stay. The beds are all extremely comfy and some rooms boast impressive four-poster beds. Most rooms on the first floor have a bath and shower facilities whereas rooms on the second floor all have a shower. br / br / br / br / After a good night s sleep breakfast is served in the traditional dining room overlooking the main lawn. An impressive continental buffet and a freshly cooked breakfast straight off the aga await guests every morning.
In an area of outstanding natural beauty Ebborways farm is situated in a very popular area for walkers cavers and horse riders. br / br / br / br / The accommodation consists of two double rooms with shared bathroom (extra beds can be provided for children) tea and coffee making facilities TV with freeview and video. br / br / br / br / Stables are available for riders wishing to bring their horses. Ample parking for horseboxes and cars. Dogs are by prior arrangement. br / br / br / br / Although Ebborways is not a working farm there are ponies dogs and a cat which visitors are very welcome to see. br / br / br / br / There are two very good pubs in the village that serve lunchtime and evening meals. Annual attractions nearby include Priddy Folk Fair in July and Priddy Sheep Fair in August Bonfire Night Display in November and also in November the illuminated Carnival season.
